Marianna, 19 Years Old // Portraits
Here you are, Babe! Your last year in your TEENS! I loved spending time with you exploring campus and taking photos that truly display your personality.
Man, growing up happens fast, and I’m grateful for your friendship.
For those who don’t know, I called Marianna my Baby for the longest time. As she got older, Baby sounded weird, so we transitioned to Babe. That name is reserved only for her, and I’ll never call Jon Babe. ;)
Happy 19th Birthday!
(In case you’d like to watch her grow up, here are the links to her past birthday shoots!)
The morning of the wedding was foggy and misting. While the ladies got ready in the bridal suite, a dedicated team of friends worked to create the wedding of Marianna’s dreams. Black and white with accents of deep green were scattered throughout the venue. White roses and greenery donned every table, arch, and bouquet.
Marianna and Ryan had a vision for their wedding, and seeing it come to life was thrilling! Their taste is classy, timeless, and romantic.
I’ve been taking Marianna’s photos since she was very little — back when I was playing around with a camera and didn’t know much of what I was doing. She was always an adorable and willing model! There’s almost a 13 year age gap between us, and I’ve treasured being her older sister and “pretend mom” all of these years. I’ve documented her birthdays, graduations, relationship with Ryan, and now their ENGAGEMENT!
You did it, Babe!
You completed college in record timing and absolutely crushed it. So proud of you and what this next year holds for you.
Thanks for the laughs popping the champagne — apparently it’s not as easy as it looks!

I may be a year late in posting this, but that’s ok! My sister, Marianna, graduated high school and entered UNC Charlotte last year as a mid sophomore with all the credits she earned from the community college. I’m so proud of her and all she’s learned and accomplished this year: working as a barista at Starbuck’s, excelling in her studies, educating others on politics and the sanctity of life, teaching piano students, baking/cooking, dancing, all while helping me stay in style and up to date on the current trends and vocabulary.
Happy 17th Birthday, Marianna! We look forward to your birthday shoot every year and seeing what theme you choose! And this year definitely didn’t disappoint!
You are officially smarter than me in many ways…starting with technology. You are now my go-to person when I have questions! I have LOVED watching you develop your own passions and hobbies, especially since it’s so different than my own!
Happy Sweet 16, Marianna! This summer was so HOT and BUSY, so we’re a few months late…but extended birthdays are always the best, right?!
Birthday photoshoots have been a tradition for many years, and it’s been a treat to watch her grow up! Every year, the photoshoot is personalized. This year, she chose an uptown Charlotte location with a view of the skyline. We LOVED shooting in Charlotte and had such a great time together!
Happy Birthday, Babe!

Roaming around my old stomping grounds while photographing Sam in vibrant fall colors was an absolute joy! We were on a mission to find beautiful colors and flowers. We most definitely succeeded!
Her dog, Nova, did an awesome job and we were thrilled to get a smile out of her. Sam is finishing out her senior year in EUROPE, and will come home with an Architecture degree. What an experience!
The colorful fall leaves as well as the blooming roses in the front of The Morehead Inn highlight their portraits and celebrate the changing season. Brandon and Susan made our job so easy as they effortlessly posed and genuinely enjoyed each other!
It was an honor to document your wedding day and we are so thrilled for you both!

Kailen was an absolute natural in front of the camera and rocked her senior portraits! You wouldn’t even know she was allergic to the grass I asked her to sit in. She’s a trooper!
Senior sessions are truly so fun and special — this season is a pivotal point in life, and I love being able to capture the life, energy, and excitement that these students have.

A few flights later, and I was in Boise, Idaho. A beautiful city surrounded by ranges and mountains that make the whole area quite stunning. Michael and I grew up together in Missouri and I am so happy for him and his new bride, Grace! Thank you for allowing me to capture and to be a part of your joyful day! - Jon
This sweet couple. It really was an honor to shoot this wedding for Chad and Bailey. I could tell from the moment I met them and their families that they have a very special bond. Not often (or ever) have I seen the Maid of Honor be a sibling to the groom, and the Best Man a sibling to the bride!
