There's just something about an engagement. Capturing that moment, so full of emotion, joy, and anticipation. Jason surprised Lauren on a gorgeous, Sunday afternoon, and recording her surprise and joy was special and it makes me smile just thinking about it. Congratulations you guys!
What a joy to be a part of Ryan and Kacie's wedding. They couldn't have been more pleasant to capture, and the entire weekend was so much fun!
During the rehearsal dinner, the groomsmen and Jake (the officiant and friend) gave their counsel to Kacie concerning Ryan. They humorously shared stories and wished the best for their marriage. Since Kacie and Ryan live in Texas, I so enjoyed getting to know them both, their families, and their friends during the wedding weekend.
What a wonderful week! My little sister Jana, was married today! Loved being her photographer, and attending one of the most lovely of outdoor weddings.
Teaching this photography workshop was more fun than I had expected! With 5 attendees, I was able to help each of them and to answer their questions. Being able to guide and to help others in understanding how to use their cameras is what I love to do. After years of tutorials and experimenting, it was a pleasure to be able to share helpful bits of advice to the workshop attendees.
Today was a great day! I had the privilege to teach/share some basic photography tips and lessons in downtown Matthews, NC. We were hoping for a sunny spring day, but it decided to be wet and cloudy. But hey, a photographer can make good use of rain and clouds (enter: macro shots of water drops and use of diffused light) :).
Loved seeing the class be creative as they used different functions on their cameras, and learned that the green automatic option isn't the only option to capture a great photograph. I will follow up with a post my favorite images that the class took, and share what I liked and critiqued about each particular shot.
A beautiful day to do a session for the Hart family! They were a joy, and fun to capture! Little Jacob was a trooper, and got excited when he saw the plane fly over (see photo!) It's always neat to meet a fellow opera singer (I'm not really, but Josh is!), Rachel is wonderful violinist too, they both serve in music ministry at First Baptist Church in Matthews, NC.

I had the pleasure of doing a session for six day old Jackson today. He was quite the amiable little fellow, with nary a peep nor cry. Beautiful son and mother!
Can I just say that getting taking photographs for the Carrasco's was a blast. Santiago's fun humor made us all laugh and enjoy the beautiful afternoon. Excited for their little girl on the way. Teresa was very lovely, and Jennifer and I had so much fun doing this session for them.
I love it when a session with a family turns into a great friendship. Such is the case with the wonderful Smith family! So much fun doing another shoot with them, and taking some special pictures for Miller's 1st Birthday! Wonderful to have Mrs. Smith's parents with us, they are celebrating their 51st Anniversary!
