Waxhaw, NC, Engagement Session // Joe+Jenna
Joe and Jenna were so much fun to shoot with my girlfriend Jennifer as my second shooter. I was introduced to them via Jennifer, who will be performing at their wedding with her family music business Wescottage Music, it's neat when we both get to be doing photography and music at the same wedding! It's been a joy getting to know Joe and Jenna, and I'm so excited to be their wedding photographer next month!
Looking forward to your wedding! Thanks for being adventurous and getting down by the water!
Jon & Jennifer
I’ve been taking Marianna’s photos since she was very little — back when I was playing around with a camera and didn’t know much of what I was doing. She was always an adorable and willing model! There’s almost a 13 year age gap between us, and I’ve treasured being her older sister and “pretend mom” all of these years. I’ve documented her birthdays, graduations, relationship with Ryan, and now their ENGAGEMENT!
You’d never know the weather was pretty gloomy, misting an hour before, and pretty gray. We were on a mission to find color and BLOOMS, even though it was mid February.
I’d say that the mission was accomplished! Jon spotted the pear tree, and we navigated thorns and mud to get there.
What a joy it is to take photos for friends as they enter such sweet, new seasons of life! Laura and I met in 2005 when we were serving at a camp in Asheville with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). We’ve followed each other’s life happenings online throughout the last many years, and I was overjoyed to see that she was engaged! A few days later, she asked about engagement photos — and you better believe we were stoked.
Mary Kathryn describes Andrew as trustworthy, thoughtful, organized, and adventurous.
Andrew describes Mary Kathryn as charming, thoughtful, courageous, and determined.
I just love how they both described each other with the word “thoughtful.” Their marriage will be off to a strong start if they continue to think of the other person first and put their needs and desires above their own, as Jesus has done for us.
The way Mary Kathryn looks at Andrew, their joy together, and the way he makes her laugh has been a joy to witness, and we are thrilled to be a part of documenting their love story.
Engagement sessions may be a favorite of ours! Monica was a bridesmaid for a wedding we shot almost two years ago, and it was a pleasure to see her and Daniel again - but this time, they’re getting married! Thank you for trusting us to document your wedding day! We loved getting to know you both better during the engagement shoot!
The post you’ve all been waiting for!!! Andrew and Bethany’s PROPOSAL and ENGAGEMENT photos!
We made the trip to Utah to surprise my (Jennifer’s) sister, Bethany, and to take some photos of them! We’ve been a part of all of my siblings proposals, and we didn’t want to miss this one!
The surprise was a huge success, and we’re so glad that we could be there.
My jaw was on the floor editing these photos. No joke.
Can you believe this was our very first mountain photo shoot?! And dare I say, WE LOVED IT.
God was SO GOOD to provide perfect weather with beautiful light! Craggy Pinnacle is a very short hike with gorgeous views - exactly what we were hoping for!
What an amazing night this was! This engagement session happened on an evening where severe summer storms suddenly appeared in the forecast and threatened our shoot. As we were looking at the radar on the way to the shoot, there was NO WAY we'd be able to take photos. But then God. He cleared it all up, gave us amazing light, a beautiful location, and gorgeous images of the sweetest couple. How amazing is that?! We just couldn't believe it!
Meet our new friends: An Australian and a Southerner. Or, you could just call them Ben and Brooke like we do. ;) They got engaged LAST WEEK and jumped on the wedding planning wagon to get a head start for international family and friends!
Meet Kyle and Shannon! We've known Kyle for a few years through our church, and it was so much fun to see him and Shannon together! Jon and I came away from their engagement session saying the exact same thing: they bring the best out in each other, and they were crazy happy, fun, kind, and so personable.
